The Simpler the Aesthetics...

'3 Style Associations Theory'

Style Essential 101: The White T-Shirt

The white t-shirt is that classic item in your wardrobe that you rely on to be a foundation to a great potential outfit and with some added sass and personality, I love seeing how different interpretations are made with such a staple item.

From cropped, to distressed white tees, there are endless and unique designs to compliment your individual style and I've found that exact one from Zara (yes, Zara everyday honey!) For a slender girl like myself, I have a great love for an over-sized fit, I find it so much easier to manipulate when you want to achieve a 'half tucked in' look which in my opinion adds a bit more depth to an outfit. As you may know, the 3 things that I associate with my style is a:

-Monochromatic colour palette,
-Minimalism
-Directional

With these '3 Style Associations', I can interpret any classic look and make it my own.

What are your 3 style associations that make up your style? How do they reflect your personality? How have these associations defined you overtime? These are the type of insightful questions I love to ask and challenge people with. I believe that style can be a form of self- expression, or a form of escapism to what you desire your personality or your lifestyle to become. With some mules, leather pants and a fetish inspired leather choker, you can tell I was going for a smart, biker chic look who doesn't even know how to ride a bike *laughs. (I am not ashamed to say it.)

I encourage you to identify your own personal style associations, it could be Preppy, Girly, Edgy, or even Gothic. This is one of the ways you can identify your individual style and understand what you like. From there, you can evolve your style and crown yourself with the title of being a 'Trend-setter'. The Rebirth

"There's a euphoric and blissful enlightenment when you realise you're embarking a fresh new chapter of your life, almost like a rebirth to a whole new you."

On Tuesday, 18th April, I celebrated my 20th birthday and it was the most blessed day that I could ever ask for. If I can give you a visual of what I felt, it was like I was finally free from my cage of self-doubt, insecurity and uncertainty that had been built up from when I was an adolescent child. I had an instant rebirth of the confident, sophisticated, and refined Queen that I always wanted to become and I can officially say that I am in my own lane, individuality and I am my own muse that I am constantly discovering and loving each day.

"You become what you think about"

If you didn't know, I created this blog on my 19th birthday and it was a plan I decided to make when I was on my gap year. (my year of reflection) It was one of the things I dreamed of doing for a very long time. However, I never had the confidence nor the self-belief to do it and I didn't think my friends would be in support of the idea. Heck, I even remember mentioning the idea, but the lack of enthusiasm and support made me doubt and forget it completely. One of the main reasons why I  love God so much is because he never let the idea depart from my mind, I believe he knew what I desired and kept reminding me on what I placed in my heart. Therefore, I got myself a job and started saving up!

After months of saving, planning and withholding all information from my friends (yes, sometimes you really must protect your ideas and continue to nurture them in your mind) On my 19th birthday, I made a cute little trip to Curry's and brought all the equipment that I knew I needed, rushed back home and created the template of my own website! I did it. For the first time in my life I felt so fulfilled and proud that I had finally done it. It was now time for me to present my craft to the world and show people who I really was.

"I became what I thought about"

I am in the season of my life where every goal I've dreamed about, I am actively manifesting that dream into my reality and there are no limits to what I can achieve if I put my all into it and continue to trust God. I've never been ashamed to say that I am a focused and serious person, I may not be like most young girls my age who are enjoying the qualities of youth. However, I see the pros in building the foundations of my empire from now rather than later. When you visualize your future self and not your present state, it's almost like you've got no choice to but to continue with the grind. Hence why I always embark on things that will benefit my future, looking at long-term stability rather than short-term fun.

There's nothing better than actively pursuing your goals and meditating on what you want to become, I decided to take the first step and never looked back. I encourage all of guys to take that necessary step and be in that season of your rebirth.
