Monochrome Summer Volume 3

Monochrome Summer- The Pyjama

As the blazing sun continues to radiant on us all, giving our skin that vibrant glow and blessing us with the opportunity to revel in the heat, the fashion scene has really been working simultaneously so that we may look are very best for the that special season that only comes once a year. For the final edition of my 'Monochrome Summer Series' I wanted to save the very best for last, and guessing from the title, this post will be dedicated to the sultry and sensual Pyjama trend.

The pyjama trend (Also known as the year of 'Boudoir chic')for the summer season have been mainly focused on a variety of colourful and bright prints. From floral to geometric, many have been designed as two pieces and nearly all share the same material of a satin like finish to enhance that feminine sensuality that the trend adopts. Like any fashion enthusiast my eyes opened and I wanted to be part of the 'Pyjama Club' and rock nightwear so effortlessly as day-wear and just stroke the soft touch of my ensemble, while others stare and question the concept of my outfit. Of course, to invest in a trend, I knew that it had to be very minimal, versatile and of course it had to be either black or white (the safe colours to life and let's face it, I am not trying to waste money and only wear it for a season.)

As you may know me already I was on a hunt...well, I'm lying It wasn't really a hunt because the first store that I researched (coughs* Zara) had exactly what I was looking for. Honestly, Zara loved me so much that it wanted to save me the time and energy and provide me something that I know, my future daughter would discover and love (yes, it's that beautiful) I would like to introduce to you my outerwear of life, which my friends love to call the 'House Wife Robe' A robe that you wear when you are wealthy enough to sit in your castle, sip on some vintage French wine and relax honey.

Since it's a robe, this outerwear is perfect for the summer season, especially if you are dressed a bit risque (like I am *smiles cheekily) and need an outerwear such as this to bring more added sophistication. For this look I wanted showcase to you guys how I love to style my evening to night looks and if I could give a list of all the vocabulary that comes to mind on how I love to present myself would be 'sexy but androgynous with a pinch of, what I love to call masculine chic. To cut it short, I simply love to look like an empowered female.
Hope you guys enjoyed this series, Until the next entry x

'Monochrome Summer Series' Volume 2

Monochrome Summer - Bell Sleeves

Welcome to the next edition on 'Monochrome Summer', if you haven't checked out my 1st series 'click here' and we can get ourselves reacquainted! Now the next Summer trend I have been slowly observing and ended up loving is the infamous most dramatic Bell Sleeves trend...*Moment of silence* guys, this trend is definitely for that inner fashionista because honey, this screams out high fashion and drama! Honestly, as you take your stride in your own glorious catwalk of life (aka the pavement in your local area) with the help of the wind, this trend will speak volumes for you without you even uttering a word.
The great thing about this trend is that anyone can wear this, if you are into high fashion looks to flirty boho chic, there are many designs out there that will cater to your own individual style and guys, I was definitely on the hunt for the one that represented me. After months, of searching, scavenging high and low and almost forgetting that I needed a blouse like this to give me life, BANG! Zara came through *laughs. Honestly, you can rely on Zara for almost anything, if you are still sleeping on them, wake up!

Guys, I am proud and honored to showcase my new amazing 'Bell Sleeve Tee'. Yes, a common classic tee that so happens to have the most exaggerated sleeves that represents my inner glam but flatters my minimal style. As a common t-shirt, which has the most unique design, it screams out versatility, this is definitely something I can wear regardless of any time and season and I am so glad Zara was able to provide exactly what I was yearning for. To style this magnificent tee, I wanted to edge it up a bit, and what's the best thing to wear to edge any outfit up....leather baby *laughs (guys I'm listening to Kanye whilst writing this, forgive me) I paired my tee with my leather A-line skirt and croc style crossover bag, both from Zara.
TIP: To make any minimal outfit look unique and interesting, mix different textures together, this helps to make any outfit look more expensive and effortlessly put together.

I hope you guys enjoy this look just as much as I do.
Until the next entry x

Monochrome Summer Series

Monochrome Summer- Off-Shoulder

'Monochrome', the most sophisticated, chic and alluring colour palette that has transitioned from time to time in the history of fashion and has since become a palette staple to many fashion houses and to our own wardrobes. Many seem to think that monochrome is either for the hardcore minimalist who banned colour in their simple and dull lives or to simply put it, a colour palette strictly for the colder seasons. However, in this series I knew I wanted to push the typical boundaries and introduce how it can be incorporated in the Summer. To make it even better, I am going to dedicate each 'Monochrome Summer' post to the latest trends that's dominating high end and high street stores. I mean, if were not going to wear colour, we might aswell dress up in the things that's trending right? *laughs

What's the best way to look sophisticated but at the same time show off some feminine sex appeal...honey the off-shoulder is the answer. When it comes to sex appeal, I am an advocate for being a tease and this trend is a perfect example.Revealing your collar bone/shoulders has such a sophisticated aura to it, and depending on the style you go for, you can go from being a 'Lady' to being a 'Desirable Contender'. Honestly just slap on some glistening oil and let that part of your body shine! *sings

I decided to opt for a 'Sophisticated Lady' themed look and to tailor it even more to my personal style, I went for a more minimal, androgynous look (because I'm a boss like that *laughs) by adding smart trousers and masculine vampy, pointy loafers. The highlight for today, which is the poplin top of course is from Zara. What I love about this top is the simplicity, clean cut look it possesses, I'm all about versatility when it comes to my wardrobe and this is something you can mix and match and of course dress up or down. To liven it up and make the look more 'Summer friendly' I opted for my favorite crossover bag of this moment (My red one was getting tired of me *laughs) This bag just screams summer with the mustard/gold colour and the kitch style metallic beading, making it really youthful and fresh.

The photography below symbolizes my take on 'Monochrome Summer', a very fresh, simple and clean look. Comfortable yet, very fashion forward.
